Race Cars.

The spectacularly styled cup car is the first racing version based on the current 992 generation road car and the first one make-cup racer of the German sports car manufacturer to feature the wide body chassis of the 911 Turbo.

Producing around 375 kW (510 hp), the new 911 GT3 Cup exceeds the output of its immediate predecessor by 25 horsepower.

The overall increase in performance of the 992 generation – over the type 991 II generation – was immediately apparent in the championship with lap times nearly as quick as that year’s 911 GT3 R race cars in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The development also showed itself in the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup rounds in 2021, where lap times were slashed by up to three seconds at most European circuits.

This was in part due to not only the increase in power, but increased traction and downforce, with component run times also extended over the previous generation – offering lower running costs and reliability for all.

The new car debuted in Porsche Carrera Cup North America in 2021.

The 4-liter, six-cylinder flat engine now resides at the rear of the world’s most-produced GT racing car, providing an even greater level of power.

With its direct fuel injection and motorsport technology, this compact engine delivers an impressive peak performance of 357 kW (485 hp). Not only does it offer exceptional power, but a range of innovative features also enhance efficiency, ensuring improved durability and reduced maintenance costs for the naturally aspirated engine during intense racing conditions.

One notable advancement in the new 991 GT3 Cup is the introduction of a valve drive with rigidly mounted rocker arms and a central oil feed, a first for this model. Additionally, an integrated oil centrifuge optimizes oil defoaming within the engine, further enhancing its performance. Furthermore, a crankshaft with significantly increased rigidity has been implemented, adding to the overall robustness of the car.

The debut of the new 991 GT3 Cup took place during the 2017 race season, initially featuring exclusively in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, which runs alongside Formula 1 races, as well as in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland and North America. Starting from 2018, this exceptional car became available for other market cups, expanding its reach and allowing more racing enthusiasts to experience its remarkable capabilities.

The entry into GT racing: faster than ever. The new 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport is ready to succeed in sprinting and endurance races in international competitions.

Thanks to its increased performance. Because it glides over bumps in the asphalt even more effortlessly. And because it can go straight to the starting line. The 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport is a genuine turn-key racing car for all homologated GT4 racing series. A commitment to the race track. A declaration of dependence on motorsport.

The feeling of never wanting to let off the gas again. Sounds familiar? Then we can ramp that up now. With up to 9,000 rpm, the 6-cylinder naturally aspirated boxer engine in mid-engine design is eager for the next race victory. And the sound? As overwhelming as the driving power of 500 PS (368 kW), which the 7-speed PDK transmission with rigid suspension and shorter ratios transmits to the rear axle without delay. What does that do to the driver? It is pleasantly addictive. You will want more. And even more of that driving experience.

Anyone who is enthusiastic about motorsport will never let go of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. The improved driveability has the same effect on both pro and amateur driving: an urge to drive again. Becoming one again with the race car and the race track. Be a few tenths of a second faster again. The basis is the chassis which has been specially developed for the race track. Seven-way adjustable sword-type anti-roll bars on the front and rear axles and optimized 2-way shock absorbers compensate for unevenness in the asphalt and ensure precision on any race track. Keeping control when pushed to the limit? It’s hard to believe what’s possible.

Global Platform.

Since 1990, Porsche Cup vehicles have been built on the base of the 911. On November 28, 2022, the 5,000th Cup vehicle rolled off the assembly line. At the same time, almost 5,000 races have been conducted in one-make series with Porsche Cup vehicles – a unique success story.

Upon the development of the Porsche 964 in 1990, the “Porsche Carrera Cup” was launched. The philosophy of the race series: uniform vehicles, tires, and fuel. On a technical level, cup vehicles are identical; the same goes for the Michelin tires. Everyone starts under the same conditions.

The first Porsche Carrera Cup Germany in 1990 was won by Olaf Manthey. He raced across the Circuit Zolder in Belgium with his Kümmerling-green Porsche 911 and claimed the championship title.

The 911 GT3 Cup vehicles are assembled in the main 911 facility in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, the very same production line as the other road-going sports cars. The race cars are always constructed during model years, often in fall/autumn, to be ready for the next season. One production run takes about eight hours, after which the vehicle is mostly completed and merely needs a final touch along with an approval run before the vehicle can be delivered “race-ready”.

After originally launching in Germany, Porsche Carrera Cup racing went international in 1993 with the launch of the Mobil 1 Porsche Supercup, which accompanies major Formula 1 races. German racer Altfrid Heger took the championship in its first year. In 2024, The Mobil 1 Porsche Supercup will begin its 32nd consecutive season.

Porsche Carrera Cup competition has been a breeding ground for international motorsport stars – many of whom today retain important roles with Porsche Motorsport.

Porsche GT legends – Jörg Bergmeister, Timo Bernhard, Marc Lieb and Patrick Pilet – all kick-started their careers with championship success in Porsche Carrera Cup Germany.

New Zealand racer Earl Bamber won a pair of Asian Porsche Carrera Cup championships and earned the 2014 Mobil 1 Porsche Supercup crown before going on to take two victories in the 24 Hour of Le Mans for Porsche in 2015 and 2017. He remains a race team owner in Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, and his team was the squad behind Team Australia’s GT win in the 2022 FIA Motorsport Games.

Three drivers from the Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 LMDh program are former Carrera Cup winners. Matt Campbell (Carrera Cup Australia champion, 2015) and Mathieu Jaminet (Carrera Cup France champion, 2015) became factory Porsche drivers after their success and won the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GT title last year. Both with drive the Porsche 963 in 2024.

British racer Nick Tandy won Carrera Cup Germany in 2011 and went on to take an overall 24 Hours of Le Mans victory in 2015. He returned to the Porsche family in 2023 aboard a Porsche 963 alongside Jaminet.

Another Carrera Cup champion, Kevin Estre, will race the Porsche 963 in the FIA World Endurance Championship while Porsche GT racer Jaxon Evans is another former Carrera Cup champion.

Kay van Berlo and Trenton Estep both earned a spot in the Porsche Selected Driver Program North America thanks to their achievements in the Porsche Deluxe Carrera Cup North America campaigns.

2021’s inaugural Porsche Carrera Cup presented by Cayman Islands champion Seb Priaulx went on to race Porsche machinery to victory in the FIA WEC last year and returned to the US in 2023 in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with new fan favorite team, AO Racing.
