The Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program is a groundbreaking initiative designed to support and promote female talent in motorsports. Since its inception in 2023, the program has been instrumental in providing female drivers with essential resources, financial assistance, and career development opportunities within both Porsche Carrera Cup North America and Porsche Sprint Challenge North America.
Porsche Motorsport North America, in collaboration with the Mobil 1 brand, launched the Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program to foster an inclusive environment where female drivers can thrive. This initiative reflects a shared commitment to increasing gender diversity in motorsports and paving the way for a more equitable future for all racing enthusiasts.
“At Mobil 1, it is core to our mission to share the love of driving. We’re dedicated to creating opportunities to elevate our passion and champion sponsorships that allow a more diverse and inclusive group of drivers,” says Jennifer Durgin, North America Lubricants Marketing Manager at Mobil 1. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Porsche on this remarkable initiative to further empower female racing talent to thrive at every level, both on and off the track. Through this program, we’ll take steps towards providing resources and developing a more equal road ahead for female racers.”
The Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program provides participants with:
Financial Support: 50% of the season entry fee for each female driver is covered, ensuring greater accessibility to a full season of racing.
Performance Incentives: Complimentary sets of Yokohama tires are awarded to the top-finishing female driver at each round, easing financial burdens and encouraging high performance.
Training and Education: Specialized workshops, including training from former Porsche Factory Driver Patrick Long, provide valuable career development, networking opportunities, and insights into professional motorsports.
Recognition and Branding: Official program participation enhances drivers’ profiles and credibility within the motorsports industry.
Each year, Porsche and Mobil 1 host an exclusive workshop focusing on two key areas: training and business skills. The training component pairs drivers with specialized coaches who develop personalized fitness routines tailored to their racing needs. The program also includes expert-led sessions covering crucial topics such as nutrition, sleep optimization, mental preparation, and overall driver wellness.
Additionally, off-track development is a priority. Industry professionals provide workshops on media training, sponsorship strategies, and personal branding, equipping drivers with the tools needed to secure high-profile opportunities in motorsports.
“Since launching the Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program, we have been thrilled with the rapid growth in the number of female drivers competing and succeeding within our development pyramid,” says Volker Holzmeyer, President and CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America. “Mobil 1 shares our goal of encouraging young female racers to take the next step in their careers, and together, we are committed to providing them with the necessary support, tools, and education to advance.”
Holzmeyer adds, “Porsche and Mobil 1 have long partnered on numerous racing programs worldwide, including the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, which supports Formula 1 events. Having Mobil 1 as the naming rights partner for the Female Driver Program strengthens this important initiative and ensures its continued growth.”
Each season, the Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program welcomes a new group of talented racers. For the 2025 season, a total of seven female drivers are part of the program:
