2023 Season Preview: Tatum Racing

2023 Season Preview Tatum Racing

Speedway, IN | Tatum Racing is a family owned and operated business with over 5 decades of Motorsports experience. JT and Patsy are responsible for the teams logistics and day to day operations. Their son, Shawn Tatum, is Team Principal and Crew Chief. The crew for 2023 will consist of Technicians Will Higgins, Sheldon Marra, Chad Deppe and Dougy Trupski. During the 2022 season the Tatum Team and Racing Community lost a fellow crew member. During this time of loss, the Porsche Sprint Challenge and Racing Communities came together as a whole with overwhelming support.

After their 2022 Inaugural year in Porsche Sprint Challenge; Tatum Racing based at Utah Motorsports Campus is excited to be campaigning another two car team in the Porsche Sprint Challenge North American Series and the Porsche Sprint Challenge West Series for 2023.

2022 brought lots of excitement, dedication and hard work as Tatum Racing campaigned two 991.2 Porsche Cup Cars in the Porsche Sprint Challenge West Series, with limited time to prepare for the season. The team came together to prepare for the season with phenomenal attitude to get the job done. With John McInnes in the # 56 and Chris Haunold in the #00 both had fantastic results throughout the entire season.

2023 will again find John McInnes returning in his 991.2 Cup Car #156; to both the Porsche Sprint Challenge North American and Porsche Sprint Challenge West Series. With 2 overall wins at his home track at Utah Motorsports Campus and two more class wins at the historical Indianapolis Motor Speedway, John is excited as ever to see what 2023 will hold.

Joining the Tatum Racing Team for the 2023 Porsche Sprint Challenge North American Series will be 17 year old Nick Maloy making his Rookie Debut. Nick will be driving his 2020 GT4 Cayman Clubsport in the PRO/AM Class. He will be competing for the Championship in his class and also hoping for a spot on the Porsche Motorsport Junior Driver Program. Nick is a dedicated and talented young driver that has set goals to achieve and enhance his driving abilities. Tatum Racing will be giving 110% effort in helping Nick achieve his goals and dreams in 2023.

Parker Thompson the 2022 Carrera Cup Champion , will again be providing Driver Development and Coaching during the 2023 Season. John McInnes gained a great deal of understanding about the car having Parker as the Coach last Season. John is looking forward to improving his Race Craft and will be fighting for the Championships in both Porsche Sprint Challenge Series in 2023.
